Opening day of the spring striper season today on the Rappahannock.
Water is still way up and a bit muddy so bait was the choice for the day.
Caught 5 in a couple of hours fighting the raging current. One keeper size throwback.
Fishing partner caught a couple of keepers for supper.
The water is dropping and clearing fast.
Should be good tomorrow and great Thursday.
It will be very good for a couple of weeks or until we get a big rain.
A few pictures from trout season. It's tough to find the time to fish with the kids playing soccer, tee ball, and swimming. Not to mention my work schedule and other family responsibilities and work around the house, but we got out a few times this year and hit some lakes. I even managed to sneak out a few times without the kids to hit some rivers and streams for trout and when they found out I went without them they were not happy.
Local or meet in/around Roanoke Valley...at least $500 worth of stuff for $200, unarsing stuff I don't use, all in excellent shape...
