No points yet, I'm actually surprised that I haven't found any because I know they have been found in the areas I hunt.

Riker cases - I got my first set off of Ebay, I looked at some on Amazon too. I bought some more a couple of weeks ago from an Antique Mall in Richmond. All locations are similarly priced, if I get it online, I make sure there is no shipping costs associated.

Went a couple times this week, snuck in a trip Wednesday afternoon and another trip Saturday morning before the mobs of people descended on Stratford Hall. Nothing overly exciting, some real nice Snaggletooth shark teeth on Wednesday. Saturday provided some variety with a croc tooth, a couple of dolphin teeth, and the two biggest shark vertebrae that we have found yet.

Wednesday total haul:

For those of you who have been waiting for it to warm up to give this a shot, the time is now. We spent a couple of hours down at the Potomac this afternoon and you no longer need waders...I have some water shoes and that's all I used and the water was pretty comfortable. After 4 days of rain and high water this week, the beach was stirred up quite a bit...we were there during the worst possible tide but the teeth were plentiful, just no large ones. I didn't take a picture but we ended up with 3 Makos, 3 Thresher, a few nice Snaggletooth, a real nice Sand Tiger, a Cow Shark tooth, and multiple Tiger and Bull shark teeth.

I also got a tip on where to find points at Tonto, I might hit it up next Wednesday.

Neato dude, post up if you find any; got a couple of old camps here close, but no access...

Still finding some cool stuff even though the river has been pretty high. The past four trips we have found cow shark teeth, three of them whole (fragile tooth, usually find fragments). Water is definitely warm enough to wade in now, maybe a little brisk at first but you get used to it quickly.

Today's haul...included a baby Megalodon.

I haven't been going as much as usual, too much "adulting" going on around the house. I did manage to get a few trips in, including today. Oh, should anyone sign up to do a fossil tour at Stratford Hall (collecting beyond the small beach area), yours truly may be one of your guides. I was added to their volunteer "Paleo Patrol" team this week...I get some cool perks out of it.

This is the total haul from a tour that I took at Stratford Hall (past the ropes), a lot of Makos and a neat axial vertebrae:

[Image: 19059582_10211198464452255_8410071692264...e=5A041F98]

This was my last trip to Stratford Hall (inside the ropes), not as impressive but I did find a dolphin tooth and a puffer fish mouth plate and a pathologic (deformed from disease or injury) tooth.

[Image: 19274901_10211272156014498_8131118919946...e=5A07C291]

The pathologic tooth, it isn't broken, it formed two points.

[Image: 19225069_10211272157574537_4278218492893...e=59D6F488]

Today I was able to hit the upriver area (Purse State Park), a much older formation...a ton of teeth and a first for me, an extremely rare Pygmy White Shark. Also found a croc tooth and some turtle fragments.

[Image: 19748780_10211441604850613_7335451111127...e=59D7BC61]

The rare tooth, Paleocarcharodon Orientalis, the Pygmy White Shark. It is rare because it only showed up in this era and went extinct...only a few areas in the world can you find them. This one is very worn but I'm pretty excited to find it.
